Climate Controlled Irrigation - Saves Money and Reduces Waste

Climate Controlled Irrigation

What It Is

Climate Based Irrigation Control is a control system that operates with the basic principle that landscapes need water at changing rates based on weather conditions.

How It Works

A Climate Based Control system utilizes real time weather data received from a signal transmitted from a local weather station.  The control system then utilizes the weather data to make adjustments to the irrigation system programming which results in watering based on changing climatic conditions – i.e. watering more often during hot, windy, dry periods and far less often during cool, overcast, wet periods.

This control system allows for immediate and accurate response to weather changes to meet the requirements of the landscape maintaining a healthy and lush landscape while maximizing water savings.

Benefits:

  • Results in real and proven yearly water savings averaging 50% over traditional timer based irrigation scheduling.

  • Typically returns the initial investment cost within 1 to 2 irrigation seasons for commercial and multi-residential properties.

 Also:

  • Allows for effective and efficient irrigation without the input of site personnel.
  • Rain interrupt to prevent irrigation during rain events.
  • Low temperature interrupt to prevent irrigation during freezing conditions, eliminating the liability of ice on side-walks or roads.
  • Wind interrupt prevents over spray during high wind conditions.
